Choosing a display name and login name

A DISPLAY NAME is shown when you add items like classifieds, Job Vacancies, Suggestions, comments and Ratings. It can be a personal or company name - whatever you prefer to display. It can be changed any time by clicking on your "settings" button. When you change your display name in settings, it changes everywhere on the site.

Your LOGIN NAME is part of your security permissions and is permanent.

It must be unique, and can't be changed, so make sure your login name is...

• Memorable. Even if you forget for password, you will be expected to remember your login name to get your password sent to you.
  
• Easy to type. Computers know the difference between capital and lower-case letters. Therefore JanVDM, Janvdm and janVDM are three different people as far as the computer is concerned. Be careful with capitals.
  
• Spaces are also "letters" to a computer, so FredsBricks and Freds Bricks are two different users.
  
• Avoid using punctuation in a login name - it's easy to forget an apostrophe or hyphen, plus some symbols just aren't allowed.
  

Usernames and passwords are case-sensitive.
